What a good budget app has to do

A budget only helps if you keep it up. That is why FinanceCounter focuses on fast entry: quick capture adds an expense in seconds, and app shortcuts plus a home-screen widget open it directly. “Repeat transaction” reuses an earlier entry – handy for the weekly shop.

Just as important is a structure that fits your life. You create your own categories and subcategories, without limits even in the Free version – and if a category is missing while you book, you create it right in the form.

How to keep your budget with FinanceCounter

  1. Set upThe introduction asks for your currency, first account and, if you like, your regular income and fixed costs.
  2. Record as you goAdd expenses with quick capture or scan the receipt. Recurring items are scheduled automatically.
  3. Plan and reviewSet budgets, follow the budget status and see at the end of the month where your money went.

Fixed costs, budgets and the monthly close

  • Recurring transactions: unlimited in the Free version too
  • Budgets: 1 overall and 3 category budgets in Free, unlimited with Premium
  • Weekly review and monthly close as optional reminders

Set up rent, insurance and subscriptions once as recurring transactions. The due-date calendar shows what is coming next, and the overview lists your upcoming fixed costs. With an overall monthly budget and budgets per category you notice early when an area gets out of hand; optional notifications remind you in time.

A budget for several people

Local households let you split expenses between household members and record settlements – for example in a shared flat or a couple. Good to know: households live on one device only. There is no online sync between several phones. The Free version includes one household, Premium several.
