Expense tracker and spending analysis: see where your money goes

FinanceCounter turns your transactions into a clear financial overview: spending by category, income versus expenses and budget status – a tool for real control over your spending.

At a glance

At a glance

  • Income versus expenses as a chart
  • Spending by category
  • Budget status and trend on the overview
  • Previous-period comparison and yearly view (Premium)
  • PDF reports (Premium)

Why analysing your spending pays off

Most people estimate their big items quite well – rent, car, insurance. What almost always gets underestimated are the many small amounts: lunches, delivery, streaming, spontaneous purchases. Analysing your spending makes these totals visible and shows which categories grow from month to month.

What FinanceCounter shows you

  • Bar chart of income versus expenses for the chosen period
  • Spending by category with shares and amounts
  • Budget status with what is left per category, right on the overview
  • Total cost per project, for example a move or renovation
  • Premium: largest category, savings rate, comparison with the previous period, yearly view and detailed weekly and monthly reviews

Separate fixed costs from variable spending

Fixed costs and subscriptions you set up as recurring transactions appear in the due-date calendar and in the list of upcoming fixed costs. You see how much of your income is committed and how much is left for variable spending – the basis of any realistic budget.

Spot savings potential – with your own judgement

FinanceCounter doesn’t make decisions for you and gives no financial advice. The app shows clearly where your money goes; whether you want to cut back in a category is up to you. A budget for exactly that category then makes the plan measurable.

Export your reports

You can export your transactions as CSV in the Free version too, for example for your own spreadsheet. Premium adds PDF reports for monthly close, budget, categories and runway, plus project reports as CSV, PDF or Excel.
