Add expenses and income via quick capture or the full form. Custom categories and subcategories are unlimited, and you can create a new category right while booking. “Repeat transaction” reuses an existing entry as a starting point.

You choose the file yourself: CSV with column mapping, PDF or up to four images. FinanceCounter analyses it locally, flags possible duplicates and only imports what you confirm. No bank connection, no PIN, no TAN.
A dedicated area for PDF, JPEG, PNG and XML files: invoice, till receipt, purchase receipt, credit note, e-invoice, statement or other. Search, open/paid/overdue status, duplicate hints and links to transactions. Free: up to 20 documents, e-invoices as preview; Premium: unlimited, including the e-invoice archive.
FinanceCounter reads XML e-invoices (UBL and CII, i.e. both XRechnung syntaxes) and PDF invoices with embedded XML (ZUGFeRD/Factur-X) on your device: issuer, number, date, amounts, due date and line items. A preview also works in the Free version; archiving and due-date reminders are Premium.
From a JPEG or PNG screenshot, such as a payment confirmation, local text recognition suggests merchant, amount and date. Nothing is saved until you confirm the transaction.
One overall monthly budget plus budgets per category. The budget status always shows what is left; optional notifications warn you before you hit the limit. Free: 1 overall and 3 category budgets, Premium: unlimited.
Emergency fund, holiday or a big purchase: set a target amount and date, book contributions and follow your progress. Free: 2 active goals, Premium: unlimited.
Assign transactions to a project and track the total cost. Free: 1 active project. Premium: unlimited, with project reports as CSV, PDF or Excel and automatic project assignment.
Optional reminders for due transactions, budgets, savings goals, weekly review and monthly close, plus a nudge after a few days without an entry. Invoice due-date reminders are Premium. Each category can be switched off individually.
Detailed runway until your next pay day, a personal pay cycle, “What if I spend…” scenarios, favourites as transaction templates and local merchant rules for automatic category suggestions.
Charts for income versus expenses and spending by category, plus budget status and trend on the overview. Premium adds highlights such as largest category, savings rate and comparison with the previous period, the yearly view, detailed weekly and monthly reviews and advanced filters.
CSV export of transactions and a complete data export are included in the Free version. Premium adds PDF reports (monthly close, budget, categories, runway), project reports as CSV, PDF or Excel and batch export of documents as ZIP with JSON metadata and optional CSV. You always choose the destination yourself.
Backups are encrypted with your password (at least 12 characters) using AES-256-GCM and include receipts and documents. Manual backups are included in the Free version; automatic daily or weekly backups to a folder you choose come with Premium. The backup status shows your last backup.
App lock with a 4- to 8-digit PIN and optional biometric unlock via Android. Amounts can be hidden, and the app preview in the recent-apps overview is covered by default.
FinanceCounter needs no user account and never connects to your bank. The current Android version does not even request internet permission; financial data stays in private app storage, and Android’s automatic cloud backup is disabled for the app.
App shortcuts and a home-screen widget for new expense, new income and receipt scan – the widget shows no financial data. Light, dark or system theme; app language German or English; app currency euro, Swiss franc, US dollar or pound.
Premium unlocks every feature – with a 14-day free trial if Google Play offers it, and you can cancel any time.
