Savings calculator: what can budgeting add up to?
Move the sliders and see what adds up when you reduce your spending by a realistic share.
Example calculation without interest or inflation. It is not investment, tax or financial advice and says nothing about any result you will actually achieve.
How it works
Small percentages, big effect
The calculator takes your monthly spending – capped at your income – and multiplies it by the assumed saving. That gives the amount per month, after one year and after five years.
Whether you can save 5 or 10 percent depends on how well you know your spending. That is exactly what a budget book is for: it shows which categories grow and where budgets help.
- Spending by category shows the biggest items
- Budgets warn you before you overspend
- Savings goals make progress visible
